Networks and Communities department
Networks and Communities department is divided in 2 units and their purpose are:
The Networks Unit leads on the development of our network of 114 local mind organisations strengthening the collective power of the Mind federation. The unit oversees the effective operation of Network and the wider federation, building on our foundations of quality, sustainability, and support.
The Community Services Unit works to strengthen our approach to supporting the development and commissioning/funding of local Mind services.
The Networks Unit is further divided in four teams and their purpose are:
- Network Quality - The team is made up of Head of Network Quality, 2 Managers, 6 Network Quality Leads and the Network Quality Officer. We assure the quality of the Mind federation through the Mind Quality Mark and promotes a culture of best practice and continual improvement. By establishing baseline standards through the Mind Quality Mark, administering a robust review process and providing support we can be assured that every organisation in the Federation is well run, operates legally and safely, is sustainable, upholds Mind’s values and delivers life changing support for people experiencing mental health problems. The team identifies, celebrates and promotes best practice and runs the annual Mind Network Excellence Awards.
- Network Support – The team is made up of Head of Network Support, 2 Managers, 4 Relation Leads, 1 Relation officer, 2 Data Officers, 1 Engagement officer and the Operations Officer.
The Network Relations team work to sustain, improve and build relationships and engagement across the local Mind network.
We support local Minds to:
-get the most out of being part of the federation
-identify, anticipate, and manage risk.
The team is responsible for ensuring that local Minds and national Mind are compliant with the Mind Federation Agreement. The team leads and oversees the Mind Contact relationship supporting local Minds with any queries and support they might need. As well as doing bespoke work with local Minds when they are managing risk or change.
The Network Engagement and Data team works with colleagues across local Minds, national Mind and Mind Retail to enable the federation to maximise it's potential.
The team is responsible for colleagues being active and engaged in the federation through good communication and events. Help colleagues to develop an understanding of our context and work to make confident, informed decisions. This sees them plan and deliver a programme of network events with over 150 different activities including annual conference and plan our cycle of data collection and insights from local minds.
- Network Sustainability – The team is made up of Head of Network Sustainability, 1 MFA project Manager and 2 Development Managers (Bid & Service):- a) 3 Bid Development Officers and b) 3 Service Development Officer and the Service Design Lead.
We are here to support the local Mind network to survive, adapt and thrive. We do this by providing support to local Minds in four key areas:
-Support with influencing local NHS and local government commissioning
-Support to design, develop and scale innovative and effective services
-Support with bidding for contracts
-Support around the Mind Federation Agreement
- Strategic Lead for London – The Strategic Lead for London works with the 18 Local Minds that make up the Mind in London network. The Strategic Lead supports collaboration between the Local Minds across the network to ensure development and sustainability of Local Minds in London and the Mind in London network. The Strategic Lead provides strategic direction and support; holds key relationships with regional stakeholders including the GLA and NHS Health systems; supports collaborative working across health systems; provides capacity building; campaigns and influences local and regional stakeholders
